It came with our reviling,
scowling, surreptitious smiling
and our lust,
veiling shrouded symbols, torturing our trust.
And I thought
that this travesty of love might find us
caught in the act,
my dream of loyalty shrivelled and cracked.

The title says it all.

This poem is meant to be spoken. Apologies if it doesn't come across very well in text.

I like it. It's so subversive and... coy.

//What a thrill/ My thumb instead of an onion/ The top quite gone/ Except for a sort of hinge/ Of skin. Dead white/ Then that red plush//~Sylvia Plath~
I think it comes off just as well in text.
Lovely work.
